We’re a one-stop-shop for cultural planning, capital project development & visitor experience design

Our projects come in all shapes and sizes, from facility masterplans to grassroots, community initiatives and multi-platform creative productions.
With experience guiding projects through the full production cycle, we understand all the ins and outs. We connect the dots — so you don’t have to.

One stop shop
We’re the go-to team for cultural projects. Whether you need planning and fundraising, experience design, or delivery support — we’ve got you covered.
Cultural infrastructure for the 21st Century
We specialise in refocusing cultural and community spaces so they remain relevant and accessible in a changing world.
We make every cent count
We champion smart, sustainable solutions that fit the New Zealand context and set projects up for funding and long-term financial success.
Physical and operational infrastructure
We work closely with clients and their teams to set projects up for operational success.
Expert connectors
True to our name, we bring people together — partners, stakeholders, communities, creatives and producers.
Stitchbird is led by Lily Frederikse and Matthew Taylor, partners in life and work who bring together expertise in spatial and experience design, cultural sector planning, media production and storytelling. Inspired by the New Zealand native stitchbird, or hihi, the name reflects their approach to stitching together the right teams, strategies and stories for each project — and ultimately bringing communities together.
