public entrance
A much-loved site celebrated through heritage storytelling
Needs a title
Central Energy Trust Arena in Palmerston North is one of the country’s busiest events and sports complexes. It also has a rich history as the home of the 28th Maori Battalion, a WWI military camp and the local A&P Association.

Needs a title
Palmerston North City Council were developing a new public entry plaza and came to us wanting an interpretive plan and signage to share the site's history.
We worked closely with the architecture, landscape design team and Rangitāne iwi designer and led the engagement process with the local community.

Needs a title
Our interpretive solution embedded diverse stories around the site, through signage, updatable screen content and cultural design features on seating, walls and paving that referenced he kahu - the cloak - a symbol of manaakitanga.
