Dutch Connection Museum Trust
A national Dutch museum
Needs a title
The Dutch Connection Museum Trust approached us to help them set up a museum in Foxton. They were initially going to go it alone. However, after years of planning support from Stitchbird, the Trust committed to entering a partnership with Horowhenua District Council and Te Taitoa Maori o Te Awahou Trust and to developing the Oranjehof Dutch Connection Centre as part of a sustainable tourism and community hub to house multiple groups.

We helped the Trust by
Working with it to develop the museum’s curatorial concept and write the design brief
Ensuring the centre and visitor experience reflected the distinctive Dutch identity, blending tradition with bold and contemporary design
Liaised with community members and leading artists about how their work and stories were to be presented
