Dutch Connection Museum Trust
A national Dutch museum
The Dutch Connection Museum Trust approached us to help them set up a museum in Foxton. They were initially going to go it alone. However, after years of planning support from Stitchbird, the Trust committed to entering a partnership with Horowhenua District Council and Te Taitoa Maori o Te Awahou Trust and to developing the Oranjehof Dutch Connection Centre as part of a sustainable tourism and community hub to house multiple groups.

We helped the Trust by
-
Developing the museum’s curatorial concept and design brief
-
Ensuring the centre and visitor experience reflected the distinctive Dutch identity, blending tradition with bold and contemporary design
-
Liaising with community members and leading artists about how their work and stories were to be presented
-
Briefing and guiding the exhibition design team to interpret and carry out the exhibition fitout
