Tarapuruhi Bushy Park near Whanganui is a rare inland native forest reserve managed by the community in partnership with Forest & Bird. Unusually, the site includes a heritage homestead that can be hired for functions, nestled within the regenerating bird sanctuary.

We delivered a suite of visitor experience projects, including refreshed brand collateral that would make Tarapuruhi a more compelling destination for locals, school groups and tourists. We worked closely with the small Trust team to identify priority visitor markets, funding opportunities and potential improvements – all within a limited budget.

On site, we delivered an engaging new visitor centre and created heritage displays integrated into the historic stables building.
